So while this resort is not on par with the luxury of other Secret properties - the staff are so great and helpful that it makes up for that. The location is absolutely stunning, on the end of the hotel strip. If you prefer a quiet stay - make sure to look into being placed in a building away from the party/activity pool. Our original room was overlooking the activity area and it was much too loud in the morning and afternoon - however - when I mentioned my experience of first night on the app —- staff immediately responded and moved us into a different room. I cannot say enough about how helpful the employees at this hotel are. The app the hotel uses for guests is great - and staff are very responsive. Loved our stay here. Loved the area. The beach at the hotel is not the best for swimming - however the are to the far left has some good snorkeling. A crocodile was spotted in the water a day before our arrival so the beach was closed for a few days - however, the area has many other beautiful beaches to go to so we did not feel like we missed out. If you are in for a day trip - rent a car and go to St Augustine beach - gorgeous, locals mostly, amazing beach, great snorkeling.
Bring back Corona and Modelo beers

This was our third time back and first time since it became Hyatt property. We were celebrating our 14th anniversary and had a wonderful time. There is so much I can include but I will just mention a couple of things: 1. Food and Drinks: If you are a beer person, they only serve Dos Xs and Amstel Ultra beers. Neither of those are our beer of choice and we were really disappointed that they no longer offered Corona or Modelo. However, not a deal breaker since there are many other drinking options. The food was really good at Castaways, we had both breakfast and lunch there and never disappointed. They have a Mezcal tastings section, if you are interested in learning about Mezcal and tasting the different types, I would recommend it. Ingrid the Mezcalier really knows her stuff. She warned us about buying Mezcal without the stamp of inspection/approval in Crucecita, since it would mean they are unregulated. Carlos at the swimup/barefoot bar made really good drinks, Ismeal at the Rendezvous also made good drinks. Usually at 1pm they featured some food specialty at the barefoot grill and the food there was pretty good. Taco tasting and Ceviche making in particular were really good. Sushi, not so much. 2. Entertainment: The entertainment team was fantastic, we were mainly by the main pool since unfortunately the sea was very rough and we were not allowed to swim and Alejandro, Amir and Daniel kept us all very entertained. They had various activities throughout the day and night. Overall our experience was very pleasant, Carolina, Luciano and Alexis at the UVC and VIP section were always helpful. We would definitely return, hopefully next time the beach will be calm enough to swim in.
